Making the decision to move to an assisted living can be difficult, and you can easily feel overwhelmed in the decision making process. Here are some questions that we hear often. Please contact us for more information.
How do I know what kind of care I need, or my loved one needs?
Senior care options vary widely, and it can be overwhelming. Begin by gathering information on a variety of care options in a variety of different settings. Discuss with your physician what he/she feels is most appropriate at this time. Planning ahead and doing your homework can help you make a desicion that everyone is comfortable with.
Does The Sanctuary of Geneva offer care for persons with Alzheimer's disease?
There are currently 5 million Americans diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, and estimates are that 10 million baby-boomers will develop Alzheimer's disease in their lifetime. While the Sanctuary does not have memory unit, we do provide care to those in the early to moderate stages of Alzheimer's disease. We cannot keep a resident at the Sanctuary who is at risk of wandering from the building, as we are not a secure facility.
What security measures are taken at The Sanctuary?
The main door at The Sanctuary is protected with a key code, and remains locked when the front door is not being monitored by a staff person. All other doors are connected to the emergency nurse call system. When the door is opened from the inside, the call system is activated to alert staff. All doors are locked from the outside.
What utilities are included in the daily rate?
The only utility not included with the daily rate is the resident's personal telephone. Each resident has their own phone, with their own phone number, and they are responsible for the charges associated with that service. All other utilities, including cable television, are included in the daily rate.
What is your staff turnover?
The Sanctuary of Geneva is proud to have a very low staff turnover rate. The Sanctuary opened in 2002, and there are staff members at The Sanctuary who were hired at that time. Residents benefit from consistent staff, routines and structure, and The Sanctuary provides that.
Is The Sanctuary of Geneva part of a larger corporation, or does it have sister facilities?
No. The Sanctuary of Geneva is a private facility. The managing general partner is from Geneva, and is on-site daily.
